Jay K. Flowers, Esq. graduated with honors from Hampton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Mr. Flowers earned his J.D. degree from Howard University School of Law.

Upon law school graduation, Mr. Flowers worked in private practice in antitrust and litigation in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Prior to joining the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), he worked as a Staff Attorney for the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, L.L.P.

Currently, Mr. Flowers is employed by The USPTO under the Department of Commerce. Mr. Flowers is a Trademark Examining Attorney and is responsible for reviewing, analyzing and processing trademark applications, drafting written responses to applicants, advising applicants on current trademark law, and submitting appeal briefs to the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Mr. Flowers has been employed by the USPTO since September 2006.

Mr. Flowers is an Alexandria, VA resident and attends Alfred Street Baptist Church. He currently serves as the Secretary for the Board of Directors and prepares the meals for the Alexandria Fathers in Touch class. In addition to serving on the Board of Directors for CYEP, his interests include watching and playing sports, traveling, cooking, reading, volunteering, golf, skiing, tennis and bowling.
