Dawnita Wilson, JBG Smith
Dawnita Wilson currently serves as VP, Diversity and Inclusion for JBG Smith, an S&P 400 company that owns, operates, invests in, and develops a dynamic portf olio of high-quality mixed-use properties in and around Washington, DC.
Dawnita has over 15 years of strategic Diversity and Inclusion experience and came to JBG Smith from Sodexo, a Fortune 500 company with over 450,000 employees worldwide, where she served as Director, Global Diversity & Inclusion. Dawnita relocated to the DC area f rom Pittsbu rgh, PA, where she worked as Director of Inclusion Initiatives f or Highmark Health, an $18 billion integrated healthcare delivery system and health plan with over 40,000 employees and as Director of Inclusion Initiatives f or UPMC, a $20 billion -dollar healthcare organization with over 80,000 employees.
Throughout her career, Dawnita has been responsible for leading and developing diversity and inclusion strategies focused on culture change, competency building, employee engagement, communications, and strat egic partnerships. As a thought leader and credible business partner, she has developed and led multiple programs and initiatives focused on advancing diversity and inclusion, while also serving as a trusted advisor to c-suite executives and leaders.
Dawnita has a broad range of prof essional experience that includes leadership roles in areas such as Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and Operations Management, as well as independent D&I consulting.
Dawnita holds a master’s degree in Human Resources Management f rom La Roche University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree in Administration of Justice f rom the University of Pittsburgh. She has also maintained her Prof essional in Human Resources (PHR) Certif ication since June of 2006.
